Rath na Rig, Tech Cormaic & the Forrad- Cormacs House & Kings Seat : Tech Cormaic & the Forrad

These are linked together but, the Forrad is the older site. The Forrad has two banks and ditches and contains at its height a standing stone, the white granite Lia Fail (Stone of Destiny) said to be the stone of kingship which roared when touched by the suitable candidate.  When the legendary Tuatha de Danaan came to Ireland this was one of the four sacred symbols they carried.

Looking across the Lazy Beds the Forrad is right and Tech Cormaic on the left...
